We are all required to save energy and keep pollution to minimum. When choosing a platform which replaces many standalone IT and communications devices there is significant savings in raw material as well as energy which ultimately reduces carbon emissions that are damaging to our environment.

By replacing many IT and communications devices by a single device, less raw materials are used to deliver required functionality. This is more friendly to the environment as it contributes towards saving scares resources and materials.

Much less power is need to operate the mBox (only 40 W) whereby entry level servers consume at least 300 W! Also, less heat is generated by lower power products, reducing the need for further air conditioned cooling.

The mBox is very compact and does not require special communications rooms and can be mounted on the wall, put on a desk or in a rack if one is available.
